OUR Work
We provide a wide range of opportunities for our youth members to immerse themselves in local culture and the arts, and to develop professional skills that will help them prepare for the future. Our work is focused in these three areas.
CULTURAL EXPLORATION
We provide youth with free access to artistic and cultural activities--from museum visits, dance ateliers, studio sessions and meals at the Refettorio Paris to concerts, language activities, and film screenings--to bring joy to their lives as well as foster opportunities for cultural exchanges between migrant youth and local French teenagers.

CULTURAL EXPLORATION
This is Soul Food’s original activity! Our first excursion was to a concert, and since then we have taken young migrants to museums, the Refettorio Paris for sustainable fine dining, various cultural centers, concerts, film screenings, festivals, circus shows, and a weekend trip, including a guided tour at a castle. Here are a few photos of some of these cultural excursions.

HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES & LEARNING
Whenever possible we venture to give our young members the opportunity to create and learn through action. Some of our specific programs fall into this category, such as our English Club, Soul Food Dance Project and book exchange program. We have also participated in film, photography and visual arts workshops, and we often lead drawing activities in museums. These photos show a few of these creative hands-on learning activities.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
This is our newest initiative. We created a professional development program in an effort to find long-term solutions to the difficulties faced by young migrants. We focus on cultural careers, such as fashion, baking and other culinary arts. We work with professionals who are the best in their fields and/or those who have meaningful projects, such as sustainability goals. We help our young members learn basic professional principles and connect them with prestigious opportunities, helping them find their professional passion and gain valuable experience, ultimately leveling the playing field and opening new doors for them.
